The Indian hockey team has qualified for the 2024 Paris Olympics after defeating Japan 5-1 in the 2023 Asian Games. The Asian gold medalist team kicked off their campaign with a match against New Zealand on July 27, 2024.

Paris Olympics Day 4 Highlights – India vs. Ireland
The International Hockey Federation (FIH) announced the schedule for the 2024 Paris Olympics in March.
India, ranked seventh by the International Hockey Federation, will compete in Group B of the men’s hockey tournament at the 2024 Paris Olympics alongside current Olympic champions Belgium (world No. 3), Australia (world No. 4), Argentina (world No. 6), New Zealand (world No. 10) and Ireland (world No. 11).
After defeating New Zealand and Argentina, the Indian hockey team faced Ireland in the 2024 Paris Olympics. The match was held on July 30, 2024. Despite a draw against Argentina in the second match, India managed to defeat Ireland in the third match.

Player Statistics
The team got its first penalty kick in the second minute. However, Harmanpreet failed to beat the first charge. But India took the lead in the 11th minute when Harmanpreet scored a penalty.
Gurjant Singh made a great interception in midfield before linking up with Mandeep Singh to get into the box where an Irish defender committed a foul, leading to the goal.
In the 19th minute, India got consecutive penalty kicks and Harmanpreet scored the second goal. Finally, India defeated Ireland 2-0. India performed well in both offense and defense and won a well-deserved victory.

Paris 2024 Olympics: India vs Belgium
After finishing in the top three, the Indian hockey team lost 2-1 in their recent match against Belgium despite fighting hard. The top scorer was Abhishek who opened the scoring for India with a wonderful goal in the first half.
The team played solid defense but Belgium scored in the final moments of the second half to ensure victory. Thibeau Stockbroekx and John John Dohmen scored for Belgium to ensure their victory over the Indian Hockey Team.
