Paris 2024 Paralympics India Medal Tally: Complete List of Players Name and Sports

India created history at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games by winning a total of 29 medals, including 7 gold, 9 silver and 13 bronze. This remarkable achievement broke their previous record of 19 medals, including 5 gold, set at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Moreover, this milestone took India’s total Paralympic medal tally to over 50, marking a significant milestone in the country’s Paralympic history.

List of Indian medalists at the 2024 Paralympics

India is fielding 84 para-athletes, the largest number of athletes in the country’s history, at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, which will be held from August 28 to September 8. India has expanded its participation to compete in 12 sports, a significant increase from the nine sports it fielded at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games. Notably, Indian para-athletes are participating in three new sports for the first time: para-cycling, para-rowing and blind judo.

Indian athletes achieved remarkable success at this Paralympic Games, including the groundbreaking achievement of Avani Lekhara, who became the first Indian woman to win two gold medals at the Paralympic Games. Lekhara successfully defended her title in the Women’s 10m Air Rifle SH1 Standing Shooting event and set a new world record. Here is the full list:

India’s Para-archers have made breakthroughs, set records and created history at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. Outstanding armless archer Sheetal Devi initially set a world record in the ranking event and later won the silver medal. She then teamed up with Rakesh Kumar to set a new world record in the mixed team qualification event.

At the age of 17, Sheetal became India’s youngest Paralympic medallist, winning a bronze medal in the mixed team event along with Rakesh. Harvinder Singh achieved yet another historic feat by becoming India’s first-ever Paralympic archery champion, cementing his place in the record books and achieving a great feat for India.

Indian athletes winners by sport at Paris 2024 Paralympic Games

Mariappan Tangavelu etched his name in the history books by becoming the first Indian to win medals at three consecutive Paralympic Games, winning a bronze medal in the T42 class of high jump at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. Earlier, he won gold at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games and silver at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
