Transphobia in Persona 3: Reloaded

In Persona 3: Reloaded, they made some changes to parts that might hurt the feelings of trans people. In the original game, there was a scene where the character was talking to someone named “Beautiful Lady” on the beach. During the conversation, one of the characters notices the hair on her face and discovers that she is transgender. They kind of make fun of it.

But in Persona 3: Reloaded, they changed that part. Now, instead of teasing the person for being transgender, the characters run away because she said weird things about the sun. She thinks the sun in the sky is fake and tries to sell them special sunscreen at a high price.

So, the scene is still a little weird, but it’s no longer making fun of transgender people. This isn’t the first time game developer Atlus has made changes because some parts were less friendly to gay or transgender people. They’ve done this before in Persona 5.

Persona 3 Gameplay

In Persona 3, gameplay revolves around a high school student’s double life: going to school and building relationships during the day, and battling the shadows during the mysterious dark hours. The day is divided into parts, allowing players to choose how to spend their time, from making social connections to exploring the main dungeon of Tartarus at night. The protagonist can summon powerful beings called Personas, connected to tarot cards, and be able to switch between them during combat.
