Set in the whimsical world of Riley’s mind, this Inside Out spin-off series follows the crew at Dream Productions, the studio responsible for creating Riley’s dreams and nightmares. As they craft cinematic experiences each night, the team faces unexpected challenges, blending humor and creativity in a vivid exploration of the subconscious.
Seasons 1 Main Genre Animation
Out of all of the upcoming Pixar movies and TV shows, the least exciting one is Dream Productions. Dream Productions is a spinoff of Pixar’s beloved Inside Out franchise, following up on the massive box office success of Inside Out 2. The Disney+ series is centered around the titular dream movie studio from the Inside Out universe, with it focusing on the characters who produce Riley’s dreams each night. However, after the usual dreams stop working for Riley, the cast and crew at Dream Productions have to figure out how to evolve their projects for Riley.
Dream Productions could still be really good, but when comparing it to some of Pixar’s other upcoming projects, it just isn’t as exciting. 2024’s Inside Out 2 already filled the Inside Out-shaped hole in audiences’ hearts, and while the project is undoubtedly meant to coincide with the release of the sequel, this inherently makes it less exciting. On top of that, Dream Productions will focus on new characters within the Inside Out universe, meaning that the main Inside Out cast probably won’t be playing a significant role in the show’s story.
The one thing that is incredibly exciting about Dream Productions is that it will be a mockumentary. This is a new format for Pixar, meaning that Dream Productions could be modeled after other incredibly popular mockumentary shows like The Office and Parks and Recreation.

Toy Story 5 is the fifth entry in the Toy Story movie franchise by Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios. The film was announced on February 8 2023, along with several other major Disney animation sequels. For the film, Tim Allen reprises his role as the space-faring toy, Buzz Lightyear, once again.

Pixar has announced that the next installment in the Toy Story franchise is in the works, with this being the upcoming Toy Story 5. Very few details are known regarding Toy Story 5‘s story, although it was announced at D23 2024 that the movie would feature the main Toy Story cast facing off against an army of malfunctioning Buzz Lightyear toys. The film also seems to be teasing that Woody will reunite with the rest of Andy’s former toys at some point in Toy Story 5, bringing the main cast back together after the ending of Toy Story 4.
The story details that have been revealed make Toy Story 5 the least exciting of Pixar’s upcoming movies, as it seems to be a retread of what the franchise has done before. Buzz Lightyear has played the role of an antagonist in Toy Story 2 and Toy Story 3, so having another batch of Buzz Lightyear villains in Toy Story 5 isn’t anything new. On top of that, having Woody reunite with Buzz and the gang completely undoes the ending of Toy Story 4, which is a bit sad. Many fans were already hesitant about Toy Story 4 after Toy Story 3, and the fifth movie is just repeating this.
Despite there being some red flags, all four of the Toy Story movies have unquestionably been quality films, with them being better than the average animated movie. The Toy Story movies are synonymous with quality, and it seems unlikely that Pixar would drop the ball with the fifth film. Although Toy Story 5 may not be the most original thing, it could still turn out to be a great time.

4 Elio

Elio is the next Pixar movie that is set to release, and we are pretty excited to see the new film. The first trailer for Pixar’s Elio is already out, giving a first look at the exciting new film. Elio will follow the titular young boy as he accidentally gets abducted by aliens, with him discovering a massive interplanetary organization known as the Communiverse. These aliens mistake Elio for the ambassador of Earth, and while the Earthlings try to get Elio back home, Elio makes waves in this all-new alien world.
Elio is an original property from Pixar, which is always exciting. Recent Pixar movies like Inside Out 2 and Lightyear have overshadowed the more recent original properties like Luca, Turning Red, and Elemental. However, seeing new ideas and stories get the big-budget animated treatment is always an exciting thing, which is why Elio is higher up on this list than some of the other projects. The first trailer for Elio shows off a lot of creativity and charm, meaning that the movie could be another Pixar classic if it does well upon its release.
Since so much is already known about Elio, it is slightly less exciting than some of Pixar’s more mysterious projects. There aren’t a lot of questions left to be answered about Elio, with many fans mostly just waiting around for the movie to finally release in June 2025.

Pixar’s first family return as Mr Incredible, Elastigirl, Dash, Violet, and JakJak return for another adventure, directed by Brad Bird.
Director Brad Bird Studio(s) Pixar Franchise(s) The Incredibles prequel(s) The Incredibles , The Incredibles 2 Main Genre Animation
Disney made the surprise announcement of Incredibles 3 at D23 2024, quickly making it one of the most exciting projects that Pixar has in development. The Incredibles is one of the most critically acclaimed movies from Pixar, and after the box office success of Incredibles 2 back in 2018, it is no surprise that the company has been working on a third film. Almost nothing is known about the story of Incredibles 3, but director Brad Bird has been confirmed to return for the third film, meaning that the same creative visionary will be behind the upcoming third film.
The world of The Incredibles has so much potential, and it is fantastic news to hear that the wait for Incredibles 3 probably won’t be nearly as long as the wait for Incredibles 2 was. Since so little is known about the film, there is room for all kinds of speculation and hype. Some fans are hoping that Incredibles 3 will age up characters like Dash and Violet, some are hoping that new superheroes will be introduced, and some are hoping that more classic characters can return. Although a release date hasn’t been announced, Incredibles 3 is easily one of the most eagerly awaited Pixar movies.
The one thing that hinders the excitement of Incredibles 3 a bit is Incredibles 2. The critical reception of Incredibles 2 was more mixed than the stellar reception of The Incredibles, with some considering the sequel to be a letdown. Luckily, Pixar is undoubtedly aware of this, and it seems unlikely that the studio would release another sequel that has the potential to disappoint fans of The Incredibles.

In a world where technology allows humans to transfer their consciousness into robotic animals, a young girl named Mabel uses this ability to infiltrate the animal kingdom. She befriends a regal beaver, King George, and together they embark on a thrilling adventure to protect their worlds from an impending threat.
Director Daniel Chong Cast Jon Hamm , Bobby Moynihan , Piper Curda Character(s) Major Jerry , King George , Mabel Main Genre Animation
Of all of Pixar’s movies, the most exciting upcoming film from the studio is Hoppers. Hoppers is one of the very few original projects that was first announced at D23 2024, with the strange premise getting the film a lot of attention. Hoppers follows a young girl named Mable who manages to put her mind into the body of a robotic beaver, allowing her to infiltrate the world of beavers and unite the animal kingdom against the plans of a real estate developer.
Hoppers comes from director Daniel Chong, with it being the first movie that he has directed while at Pixar. Chong is behind the hit animated series We Bare Bears, and the quality of that show and its spinoff movie immediately makes Hoppers incredibly exciting. The art that has been shown off for Hoppers looks gorgeous, with it having a unique style and fantastic character designs. Hoppers also has an impressive cast, with the film featuring the voices of Jon Hamm, Bobby Moynihan and Piper Curda.
As has already been mentioned, any original project from Pixar is incredibly exciting, and this is even more the case for Hoppers. Hoppers has the potential to be an incredible film, with it being one of the most exciting upcoming projects from the studio.
