Punch Club 2 Agility Build, Fast Forward and End Demo

boxing club 2

“Punch Club”, formerly known as VHS Story, is a sports management simulation game developed by Lazy Bear Games and published by tinyBuild. In the game, players take on the role of a manager of aspiring boxers, guiding them through rigorous training and preparation for a series of boxing matches at a local club.

In addition to the boxing journey, players also embark on a journey to discover the truth behind the mysterious death of the protagonist’s father. The game is crafted in a humorous manner, taking inspiration from popular action movies of the 1980s and 1990s.

The game was first released in January 2016 for Microsoft Windows, OS X, iOS, and Android platforms. The game gained attention through a unique Twitch Plays Pokémon-style event on Twitch. The Nintendo 3DS port was announced at the Nintendo Direct in September 2016 and was originally planned for release in January 2017, but faced some delays.

Finally, it launched on March 31, 2017 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Subsequently, the game was released on Nintendo Switch on May 24, 2018. As a continuation of the series, the sequel “Punch Club 2: Fast Forward” was released on July 20, 2023. This new game promises to inherit the essence of its predecessor while introducing fresh content and gameplay features.

Boxing Club 2 agility build

The game recommends three main build directions: high strength + medium endurance, high agility + medium endurance, or high endurance + medium strength. These combinations have clear synergies, and the game seems to be balanced around them. Additionally, it’s a simple strategy to match your primary attributes to their respective fighting styles (Strength/Bear, Agility/Tiger, Stamina/Turtle) and level them up in the skill tree.

Observation results

From limited experience, skill progression seems to be divided into three stages: early game (skills 2-12), mid-game (skills 13-20), and end-game (skills 21-30). Skill progression starts out quickly but slows down as the cost of each skill increases. While it’s common to stick to one style, building across styles can be feasible and enjoyable, especially if you’re not in a hurry to beat the game.

Main fighting style

1. Way of the Bear (Strength)

Pros: High damage, debuffs, energy-saving moves, +50% damage boost in the end game.

Disadvantages: Low accuracy, high energy consumption of strength training, need to train all statistics.

2. The Way of the Tiger (Agility)

Pros: High base damage, good strength modifier, agility-based dodge, damage reflection.

Cons: Low max damage, low base accuracy, requires limited strength and stamina to access the entire tree.

3. The Way of the Turtle (Endurance)

Pros: Health and energy regeneration, defensive options, energy counter moves.

Disadvantages: High energy consumption, low accuracy, lack of synergy with tree lines, and special treatment from some enemies.

User-submitted builds

1. Bear/Turtle Build

Focus on blocking, power punching, and greedy perks for a powerful end-game kit. The balance between strength and endurance training.

2. Hide the Tiger Build

Emphasis on agility and evasion, using imitation techniques against powerful opponents. Energy conservative and effective against heavy hitters.

3. Destructive bear look

Maximize damage output and defeat your opponents quickly. Trains primarily strength and focuses on key bear skills and welfare. Please note that these are just some building ideas and players are encouraged to experiment and create their own unique playstyle to find what works best for them in Punch Club 2: Fast Forward.

“Boxing Club 2” gameplay

In Punch Club, players control an unknown boxer who has tragically lost his father, who played an important role in his training. Determined to uncover the truth behind his father’s murder, the boxer embarks on a journey to become the best fighter in his local boxing league. Throughout the game, the player manages the boxer’s schedule and activities in various locations around the city, such as home, boxing gym, store, and workplace.

A boxer’s performance in the ring is influenced by three main attributes: strength, agility and endurance. These attributes can be enhanced by participating in various activities such as exercise and work. However, performing these actions consumes other attributes such as hunger, alertness, and happiness. A boxer must carefully balance his activities to maintain optimal attributes and advance in the boxing rankings.

As the game progresses, the boxer gains friends and colleagues who help solve the mystery of his father’s murder, provide new activities to improve primary attributes, or help improve secondary attributes. Money is also important in the game and can be earned by working or winning boxing matches, as many activities require in-game currency.

In boxing matches, players can equip their boxers with learned skills such as punches, kicks, and blocks. These skills take up limited space and consume the enemy’s stamina. Opponents also have their own set of skills that players can check between turns.

The goal is to reduce the opponent’s health to zero before the boxer’s health is depleted or twenty rounds are completed. The competition is conducted automatically by the computer based on the selected skills.

Punch Club draws from fighting movies from the ’80s and ’90s to add a nostalgic feel to the game. The story of the game unfolds through various tasks, and the player’s choices will affect multiple possible endings. The game’s strategic combat system, character management, and humor-driven narrative create an engaging and fun gaming experience.
