Queens of the Stone Age

Queens of the Stone Age, more commonly known as QOTSA, is a rock band from the United States. They formed in 1996 in Seattle, Washington. The main member of the band is Josh Homme, who is both a singer and guitarist. The band members have changed many times over the years, but since 2013, it has always been Josh Homme, along with Troy Van Leeuwen, Michael Shuman, Dean Fertita and Jon Theodore.

Their music is a fusion of blues, Krautrock, and electronic music, with a touch of hard rock thrown in. Josh Homme has a unique voice, often singing in a high pitch. The band’s music is known for its powerful guitar riffs and catchy beats.

The band was formed after Josh Holm’s earlier band Kyuss broke up. Their first album, Queens of the Stone Age, was produced by some of the old Kyuss members. Nick Oliveri joined them on tour and sang in the band. Their second album, Rated R, was their big break. One of the hit songs was called “The Lost Art of Keeping a Secret”.

Their third album, Songs for the Deaf, was even more successful. Dave Grohl from the Foo Fighters played drums for the album, which received good reviews. After some changes in the band, Josh Homme became the lead singer. They released albums such as Lullabies to Paralyze and Era Vulgaris.

After a break, they returned with three albums: “…Like Clockwork”, “Villains” and “In Times New Roman…”. These albums were well received and made the band even more popular. The band’s music was nominated for several Grammy Awards. They were recognized for their hard rock performances and albums.
