“Resident Evil 4 Remake” gameplay

Resident Evil 4 is a reimagining of the 2005 game, also known as Resident Evil 4. The remake retains the “over-the-shoulder” third-person shooter gameplay from the original, while incorporating design elements inspired by the remake of Resident Evil 2 (2019) and Resident Evil 3 (2020). Notably, Resident Evil 4 showcases improved visuals designed to enhance the game’s atmosphere, complete with fresh character designs and backgrounds.

The game offers a variety of control schemes, giving players six different options, one of which is reminiscent of the original game’s controls. Throughout the game, players will occasionally need to solve puzzles to gain access to specific areas. Additionally, there are scenes in which the protagonist, Leon, must protect the president’s daughter, Ashley. Ashley uses a simplified health system compared to the original game and can stay close or distant from Leon as directed.

Just like in the original game, players in Resident Evil 4 Remake use the included chests to manage their inventory. However, one new feature in the remake is the crafting system, which allows players to craft items and ammunition using collected resources. The familiar character merchant from the original game returns, providing players with the opportunity to purchase, upgrade, and trade items. In addition, merchants offer new side quests that can be played alongside the main story.

Similar to the original, combat in the game centers around shooting enemies and reloading your weapons. However, there are significant enhancements. Protagonist Leon now has the ability to move and use weapons at the same time, allowing him to dodge attacks while fighting. Introduced melee attacks, allowing Leon to deal damage to enemies and create distance between them. In addition, new blocking mechanics allow Leon to block enemy attacks, counterattack, and use his knife to deal fatal blows to downed enemies.

Unlike the original game, Leon’s knife now has a durability meter. If it breaks, the player needs to consult a merchant to repair it or increase its durability. Additionally, Leon is able to carry multiple types of knives, each with their own unique properties.
