Rhett James McLaughlin and Charles Lincoln “Link” Neal, known as “Rhett & Link”, were a famous American comedy duo. Rhett James McLaughlin and Charles Lincoln “Link” Neal (collectively known as Rhett & Link) formed a long-lasting friendship in 1984 when they were in first grade at Buies Creek Elementary School in North Carolina. Their relationship grew and they collaborated creatively throughout high school. There they worked on projects such as a play called “Gutless Wonders” and a film parodying Oedipus Rex.
Both were members of the Christian punk rock band The Wax Paper Dogz as teenagers.
After attending college at North Carolina State University in 1996, Rhett and Link pursued engineering degrees, with Rhett graduating magna cum laude in 2000 and Link graduating magna cum laude in 2001. Despite working briefly in their respective engineering fields, they turned to work full-time for fun, inspired by their experiences with a religious organization called the Cru.
This transition marked the beginning of their journey as comedic YouTube content creators and internet celebrities.
