Starfield Deep Cover Walkthrough, How to Complete Deep Cover in Starfield?

Starry Sky Cover Walkthrough

In the game “Deep Cover”, the player is first captured on the planet Jamison. But instead of going to jail, they boarded a spacecraft called UC Alert on the Martian moon Phobos. There they met Commander Kibwe Ikande, who worked for the United Colonial System Defense (UC Navy) and dealt with the Scarlet Fleet. He asks for the player’s help in gathering information about the Scarlet Fleet.

If the player agrees, they will need to go to the Operations Center to discuss the plan with Commander Ikander. Next, they must speak to Saoirse Bowden of the Martian Trade Bureau. She knows how to get into the Scarlet Fleet, and the player needs to get her attention by giving her some Aurora.

Before heading to Mars, players should talk to Lieutenant Toft who begins the “Burden of Proof” mission. In this mission, players collect evidence against the Scarlet Fleet and deliver it to the United Colonies to receive rewards. Unfortunately, Saoirse Bowden can’t be of much help, so players must pay her 1,000 points to point them to someone else. Afterwards, they need to talk to Adler Kemp, who is part of the Crimson Fleet and can be found in the Broken Spear Tavern.

Kemp agrees to help, but requires the players to solve a problem first: Karl Fielding, a miner who owes him 3,000 credits. Players can pay off Carl’s debt, fight him, or convince him to repay his debt. Once completed, they should return to Adler Camp, who will speak with Naiva Mora, second in command of the Crimson Fleet. This completes the Hidden Mission and begins the “Rook Meets King” mission, continuing the story.

What is Star Realm Hidden?

“Deep Cover” is the first mission for the Crimson Fleet faction in the game Starfield. You can start this mission immediately after completing the first main mission and arriving in New Atlantis, or you can choose to do the mission later through the UC Vanguard faction.

In this mission, you have two main options: you can become a pirate and engage in criminal activities, or you can help UC SysDef (United Colonial System Defense) collect evidence of criminals and expose their illegal activities. The mission focuses on your first meeting with UC SysDef and finding a way to get the attention of members of the Scarlet Fleet.

How to pull off deep cover in the stars?

To complete the “Deep Cover” mission in Starfield, follow these steps:

How to start a deep cover mission:

  • Commit crimes such as theft or smuggling contraband to get arrested. Instead of being jailed, you will be taken to the UC guard ship for questioning by Commander Kobwe Ikande. He’ll give you a choice: go undercover in the Scarlet Fleet, or go to jail. Think carefully before making your decision because if you choose to go to jail, you will not get another chance.

  • If you want to avoid crime, you can start this mission after completing the UC Vanguard missions “Supra Et Ultra” and “Grunt Work”. You will be summoned to the guard ship and speak to Commander Ikander in the command center.

Talk to Commander Ikander:

  • Commander Ikander will explain the mission to you. Your mission is to infiltrate the Scarlet Fleet, collect evidence of their illegal activities, and report back to UC. Be careful because if you are arrested from this point on, you will go to jail as usual.

  • You can choose to attack the commander, but this is not recommended as you will cause the mission to fail.

Talk to Lieutenant Toft and travel to Sedonia:

  • Lieutenant Toft is located near Commander Ikander. She tells you that you need to collect suspicious or incriminating records from the Crimson Fleet and hand them to her as evidence. This includes data pads, computer downloads, and handwritten notes. You will be paid for each piece of evidence.

  • Toft mentions Aurora, a contraband that has been loaded into your ship’s cargo. She gives you a sample to attract the Scarlet Fleet. Your plan is to travel to Sedonia and use the contraband to contact the space pirates. She recommends starting with Saoirse Bowden of the Trade Administration.

Chatting with the Trade Bureau’s Saoirse Bowden:

  • Travel to the Martian city of Cydonia and find Saoirse Bowden at the Trade Bureau (your quest marker will guide you). She’s not friendly, and when you offer to sell Aurora, she refuses but recommends people who might be interested.

  • Saoirse asked for 1,000 points to get this information, and there was no way to pay her.

Talk to Adler Kemp at Broken Spear:

  • Go to the Broken Spear Tavern in Sedonia, not far from the Trade Station, and meet Adler Kemp. He is interested in your cargo and offers to arrange a meeting with the Scarlet Fleet to sell it.

  • However, Adler Kemp wants you to recover a debt of 3,000 credits from miner Karl Fielding in exchange for his help.

Recovery of Carl Fielding’s Debt:

  • Find Carl Fielding in Sidonia Uptown. You can choose how to handle the situation: pay off his debt or try to convince him to pay it back.

  • Paying off Carl’s debt was the easiest and kinder option. If you want to convince him, you need to pass a Persuasion check.

Return to Adler Kemp:

  • After settling the debt, return to Adler Kemp. You don’t need to explain how you earned the points, but he will ask Carl if he “got the message.”

  • Adler Camp will agree to arrange a meeting between you and Naiva Mora, second in command of the Crimson Fleet on Europa.

  • Congratulations! You have completed Starfield’s Deep Cover mission.

Starfield is an action role-playing video game that allows players to flexibly switch between first- and third-person perspectives at any point in the game. This vast game world is set in a galactic open-world environment and spans both fictional and non-fictional planetary systems.

Players are free to land on more than 1,000 planets, as well as an unknown number of moons and space stations. The landscapes in the game are primarily procedurally generated, with subsequent manual modifications and handcrafted content added. As the player approaches different planets, the game dynamically generates terrain, alien flora and fauna, and points of interest.

As players explore this vast universe, they will encounter a variety of non-playable characters (NPCs) who may join their team. These NPCs can assist in combat, carry items, or conduct conversations on behalf of the player. Some NPCs will even react to player choices, allowing for immersive interaction.

Players can customize their Silent Protagonist character at the beginning of the game, choosing body type, appearance, background and traits, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. As players progress, they gain experience, level up, and unlock abilities across five different skill trees: Physical, Social, Combat, Science, and Technology.

The game offers a variety of customizable weapons, a jetpack for increased mobility, and the ability to build outposts and spaceships. These spaceships can be customized and used for trade, combat, and exploration, with ship combat involving power distribution and boarding options for ships piloted by other NPCs. Resource scanning and extraction, outpost construction and crafting are also integral aspects of gameplay.
