In June 2017, it was announced that Teen Mom 3’s Briana DeJesus would be joining the cast of Teen Mom 2. Then, in May 2019, Teen Mom: Young and Pregnant’s Jade Cline joined the show after Jenelle Evans left. In October 2020, Chelsea Houska announced her departure after ten seasons and was subsequently replaced by Teen Mom: Young and Pregnant’s Ashley Jones.
The show concluded its final episode on May 24, 2022, and subsequently merged with Teen Mom OG. Cast members from both shows have moved on to the merged series titled Teen Mom: The Next Chapter, which premieres on September 6, 2022.

1) Janelle Evans
Jenelle Evans’ story is an important part of Teen Mom 2’s history. Over the years, fans have witnessed her marriage, divorce, rehab and encounters with the law.
Evans was first introduced in 2011 after having trouble partying, which led to a strained relationship with her mother and ultimately relinquishing custody of her oldest son, Jace. She has sought love with various partners, and in 2014 she gave birth to her second child, son Kaiser, with ex-partner Nathan Griffith.
In 2015, Evans met and married David Eason on Tinder. In 2017, they welcomed daughter Ensley together. Their relationship had its ups and downs, including heated arguments. In 2019, Evans called the police, accusing Ethan of assault, but later clarified it was a misunderstanding.
In a controversial incident, Ethan allegedly shot and killed the family’s dog, Nugget, who reportedly bit their daughter. Evans temporarily lost custody of the children but regained custody of Kaiser and Ensley. However, her oldest child, Jess, remains in the custody of her mother.
An investigation into the dog incident concluded that Ethan would not face animal cruelty charges because Evans admitted fabricating the story for publicity. Evans claims to have felt attacked and exploited for no apparent reason.
Evans was fired from Teen Mom 2 due to animal cruelty incidents. But soon after, she and Eason got two new dogs.
In a TV interview, Ethan explained that their dog was euthanized out of fear for their daughter’s safety, saying it had shown aggression toward children. Evans expressed uncertainty about his status at MTV and hinted at a possible return to the show.
The drama continued as Evans announced his split from Ethan and was granted a temporary restraining order. They reconciled, but faced legal trouble, and Ethan was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, driving with a suspended license, and an open container.
In March 2022, Evans revealed her diagnosis of fibromyalgia, which played a role in her decision not to appear on Teen Mom: The Next Chapter . Despite the challenges, her manager said her relationship with Eason is the healthiest it has been in the past five years.

2) Chelsea Houska
Chelsea Houska, born Chelsea DeBoer, has been criticized for her relationship drama and custody battle with ex-boyfriend Adam Lind over their daughter Aubree. Fighting to become famous through Teen Mom 2. However, Lind ultimately gave up on seeking joint custody, and Hauska moved on with her now-husband, Cole DeBoer.
The couple got engaged in 2015, married and started their own family in 2016. They welcomed their first child, a son named Watson, in January 2017, and their second child, a daughter named Lane, the following year.
Houska’s eldest son, Aubree, considers DeBoer a father figure. In a touching moment in March 2019, Aubrey left DeBoer a note and two fortune cookies, calling him “Daddy” and expressing her belief in his ability to touch the lives of many .

3) Kailyn Lowry
Kailyn Lowry’s journey on Teen Mom 2 began with her struggling relationship with Jo Rivera, with whom she has a daughter named The son of Isaac. The couple encountered challenges while raising their children together, leading to their eventual split. In later seasons, Lowry began dating Harvey Marroquin, and they eventually married. They welcomed their first child, a son named Lincoln, but their marriage ended in divorce three years later.
Despite being told she couldn’t have more children, Lori surprised everyone when she announced her pregnancy in 2017. She gave birth to her third son, Lux Russell, with her long-time friend Chris Lopez. Lowry struggled in her relationship with Lopez.
In February 2020, Lowry revealed that she was pregnant again but did not reveal the identity of the father. Her fourth son Creed was born in July 2020, and she later confirmed that Lopez was the father.
In May 2022, Lowry made the big decision to leave Teen Mom 2 . She expressed a desire to focus on personal growth and raising her four sons, and said the show no longer served her goals.

4) Leah Messer
Leah Messer is a former cheerleader and has twin daughters Aliannah and Aleeah with her ex-husband Corey Simms. Their journey as parents became challenging when they discovered Arianna had muscular dystrophy, a rare disease typically found in adults. Despite the odds, Messer persevered and worked hard to provide the best care for her daughters.

Messer’s life took a new turn when she met Jeremy Calvert, whom she married after dating for a year. They have a daughter named Adalind. Unfortunately, their marriage ended after three years.
After divorcing Calvert, Messer dated Jason Jordan but announced their split in April 2019. Despite the breakup, she says she accepts and believes everything happens for a reason.

Orlando-born Briana DeJesus became a mother in 2011 when she gave birth to daughter Nova with ex-boyfriend Devoin Austin. She then gave birth to another daughter with her ex-boyfriend, Luis Hernandez. Throughout her journey, DeJesus also dated Harvey Marroquin, who is best known for his relationship with Teen Mom cast member Kailyn Lowry. DeJesus and Marroquin had a tumultuous relationship and eventually broke up in January 2018. Although Marroquin proposed to DeJesus, she rejected the proposal.
After breaking up with Marroquin, DeJesus began dating a new man named John Rodriguez, although she preferred to keep their relationship private. However, their relationship ended in November 2019 when DeJesus broke up with Rodriguez via text message.
DeJesus briefly reunited with her ex Hernandez in 2020, but their relationship was fraught with drama involving the spread of the disease.
