Deep House Ending Explained

At the end of Deep House, Ben and Tina’s fates take a dark turn as they become embroiled in the sinister secrets of the sunken mansion. As they explore further, they uncover evidence of child abductions, mysterious behavior and disturbing video recordings. The foreboding feeling was heightened by the discovery of a locked door in the kitchen, sealed with a large cross. Despite the escalating danger, Ben’s curiosity leads them into the basement, where they encounter two chained men.

However, their unfortunate decision to delve deeper into the house sets off a chain of events. What they don’t know is that the mansion harbors an evil presence that thrives on satanic rituals and grants immortality to couples who have committed heinous acts against children in the past. The house’s supernatural power is reflected in its ability to protect the interior from the passage of time or submersion in water.

Their escape attempts prove futile as the couple’s equipment malfunctions, suggesting an evil force is at work. Back in the basement, Ben removes the masks from the chained couple, inadvertently unleashing the full power of the house. He is possessed by a ghost who manipulates him into convincing Tina to join the family inside the house.

Although Tina was briefly lucid, tragedy struck and the chained woman stabbed Ben, ending his life. Tina manages to escape, but her oxygen supply is depleted before she reaches the lake’s surface, causing her to drown. The house took their lives, adding them to the list of victims.

In a post-credits scene, Pierre, the son of the Montignac family, the original owners of the house, leads two new divers to the same location. This means that Pierre continues to lure unsuspecting people into the home, perpetuating the cycle of sacrifice and satisfying his parents’ insatiable desire for victims.

The haunting nature of the house stems from the nefarious history of the Montignac family, which engaged in child kidnapping, torture and satanic activities. The evil force within the house grants them immortality, binding them to their dwellings, forever seeking new victims.

The film’s ending leaves several questions unanswered, such as the origins of the evil force and its connection to the Montegnac family. The ambiguous nature of the haunting and the house’s ability to manipulate and trap its victims contribute to the eerie and unsettling atmosphere of “Deep House.”

deep house plot

Ben and Tina are a young engaged couple from New York and passionate YouTubers who embark on a journey across Europe documenting their experiences in supposedly haunted houses. Their latest destination is southwest France, where they hope to explore an underwater sanatorium in a man-made lake.

However, upon arrival, they discovered that the location had become a popular tourist attraction. A local named Pierre offers to take them to a secluded area by the lake, the Forest of Chantruup, where a well-preserved mansion awaits them. When Ben and Tina venture into the flooded mansion, they quickly notice strange things happening.

Mysterious sounds and noises surround them, the drone’s motion tracker detects motion without any apparent reason, and their electronics inexplicably malfunction. Upon further exploration, they discovered the room was filled with disturbing photos, posters and news articles about missing children, as well as satanic symbols and violent scratches on the front door.

In the kitchen, they encountered a door blocked by a large cross. Upon opening it, they found a room containing two corpses suspended above the Satanic Pentacle, and a side room filled with preserved human remains. Desperate to escape, Ben and Tina find themselves trapped in the house, with the window through which they entered suddenly blocked by a brick wall.

Their attempts to find other exits proved futile. While trying to open the cellar grate, Tina is suddenly attacked, but Ben inexplicably denies witnessing anything unusual. In a shocking turn, Ben removes the masks from the corpses and discovers they are the Montegnac family, the previous owners of the house. The corpse comes to life and chases Ben and Tina through the mansion.

When they make a final attempt to escape through the chimney, it collapses, separating them on different floors. In the upstairs bedroom, Ben discovers a family tree that reveals Pierre is the son of the Montignac family, whom he deliberately lured to the house. He is then attacked by Sarah, the immortal daughter of the Montignac family, and becomes possessed by her.

Tina eventually finds Ben and follows him to a hidden living room in the basement. Through horrific footage, Sarah reveals the dark truth: Monsieur Montaignac and Pierre have kidnapped children from the surrounding area for Satanic sacrifices. The Montagnacs and Sarah are eventually killed by a vengeful mob, but Pierre manages to escape.

Under Sarah’s influence, Ben tries to convince Tina to join the Montignac family. Faced with imminent danger and running out of air, Tina escapes into a secret Church of Satan, where she discovers an escape route. Ben chases her and attempts to kill her, but Tina defends herself with a diving knife, freeing Ben from her control.

However, before they could escape together, Sarah stabbed Ben to death. The Montagnac family then turned their attention to Tina, but she managed to climb up a shaft leading to the lake. Unfortunately, Tina drowned below the surface, her last bit of air gone. After the credits roll, a brief scene shows the two new divers overlooking the lake, accompanied by Pierre.
