The Division 2 Year 5 Season 3 Release Date, Patch Notes, and More

The Division 2

Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 is a video game where players take on the role of a secret agent trying to fix everything in Washington, D.C. after a dangerous virus called “Green Poison” messed everything up. It’s the sequel to the first game, and many people love it because of its cool scenes, great combat graphics, and great music.

But some critics were not so impressed with the second half of the game. Although the game didn’t perform as well as some had hoped upon launch, it still sold over 10 million copies worldwide. There is currently a new game in the works related to The Division, called Tom Clancy’s The Division Hearts.

PVE Improvements

Global Events

These improvements are designed to make Global Events more fun and engaging. Our goal is to use the success of the Golden Bullet Global Event as a benchmark and apply it to make other Global Events just as fun. Our overall approach is to minimize the negatives and enhance the positive outcomes when playing Global Events, the way they should be played.

The following global events will be affected by these changes: Guardians, Polarity Shift, Hollywood, SHD Exposure, and Resurrection.

guard

• When killing an Angel, in addition to restoring full armor, 50% of total armor is added as bonus armor. • Damage buff increased from 30% to 50%. • Minions now take 15% of incoming damage instead of being invulnerable. • Damage buff duration increased from 10 seconds to 15 seconds.

Polarity Switching

• “Dealing damage to an enemy of a different color removes a polarity stack” changed to “Killing an enemy of a different color removes a polarity stack.” • Max stacks increased from 5 to 4. • Damage bonus per stack increased from 20% to 25%. • Killing an enemy of the correct polarity reloads the player’s weapon.

Hollywood

• Tripled explosion radius. • Tripled explosion damage. • Fixed explosion VFX. • Explosions now spawn signature ammo and grenades at the player’s location.

SHD Exposure

• After reaching 100% exposure, the first melee attack deals 10x melee damage. • Stacking speed increased by 50%. • Pulse radius doubled. • Players take 65% damage from pulsing enemies instead of 115%. Non-pulsing enemies still deal full damage.

resurrection

• Increased explosion radius threefold. • Increased explosion damage by 50%. • Increased enemy headshot weakness by 50%.

project

We’ve made some changes and additions to completion conditions and rewards to make projects more interesting and worthwhile. These changes will affect the following projects:

  • Daily Projects

  • Weekly projects, including invasions and weekly legendary quests

  • Season Ticket Daily Items

  • Daily and Weekly Dark Zone and Clash items

  • Weekly drop plan

  • Weekly Summit Project

Game Mode

We plan to introduce a talent rotation feature in Descent, as well as shorten the run length to speed up encounters with Nemesis.

Summit fans can look forward to the LVL 100 XP issue being resolved.

Countdown, Descent, and Summit modes have all been optimized to improve overall stability and performance.

Weapon Balance

The General Buff Balance Pass is designed to enhance the appeal of less popular weapons and make them more attractive to all Agents.

Changes made to standard weapons may have an impact on named and exotic weapons derived from them. However, to avoid inadvertently over-buffing exotic and named weapons, some buffs may not carry over. While most weapons are expected to inherit base weapon buffs, some may remain unchanged to maintain balance. Additionally, the third attribute of all exotic weapons will be reconfigurable.

Gear balancing

Our goal is to increase the power of 2-piece and 3-piece branded set bonuses to reward players for their loyalty to a specific branded set. We want to make the 3-piece bonus more appealing while making lesser-used mechanics more relevant.

New Features

We’ve made several improvements to the inventory system. We’ve added a new menu called “Tampering” which consolidates the functions of optimization and recalibration into one convenient location. This menu, along with the expertise menu and talent/attribute library, now has a separate tab in the inventory and can be accessed from anywhere, reducing the need to return to the base of operations. We’re also adjusting the optimization costs to reduce the fees associated with upgrading. In addition, we’ve introduced the option to send items directly to the storeroom, which will warn you if the storeroom is full. In addition, we’ve implemented a feature that displays the number of storeroom items when approaching a storeroom, eliminating the need to visit the storeroom to check inventory.

Quality of Life Updates

We’ve made some major changes to the loot box system in the open world. Loot boxes will now scale with world difficulty, resulting in higher quality gear and more comprehensive stat increases, especially on Challenging and Heroic difficulties.

Additionally, we are introducing a new feature that allows players to instantly recharge 25% of their armor using an armor set, with a 5 second cooldown. This is in addition to the existing hold-the-button recharge feature for 100% armor.

Additionally, we will be capping the SHD Overwatch HP bonus at level 2000 and increasing the HP gain. From level 1 to 1000, players will receive 30 HP and 1 Perk Point per level. From level 1001 to 2000, the HP gain will remain at 30 HP per level. Beyond level 2000, there will be no additional HP bonus. These changes are intended to enhance the gameplay experience and provide a more balanced progression system.

To avoid duplicate items cluttering the mod space unnecessarily, we want to make skill mod inventory management more efficient. Each reward can only be owned once, and the value of the scroll will be updated when the player obtains a better reward.

PVP Improvements

conflict

Our goal is to reinforce Conflict as the purest PvP experience in The Division 2 by making it a more balanced experience for all players, regardless of how much time they have invested in the game. As a result, all Agents joining Conflict will have their Expertise and SHD Watch rewards revoked.

The caches available to Agents in this mode will offer a greater number and higher quality of reward items.

Changes affecting the respawn zone include plans to add turrets to all respawn points to prevent respawn camps, and a ban on changing equipment and gear during a conflict. Only one equipment change and changing a single piece of gear will be allowed per respawn.

Status Effects

Status effect adjustments prioritize PVP experience.

All of the status effect changes included in Project Resolve are focused on reducing their impact and introducing countermeasures. The goal is to make status effects more manageable in PvP and give Agents more options to counteract them. While these changes are primarily targeted at the PvP experience, we will monitor their impact on PvE as well.

Added diminishing returns to all status effects in PvP, split between crowd control (shock, ensnare, blind) and damage over time (bleed, burn, poison). Diminishing returns do not apply to PvE.

Diminishing returns mean that each subsequent application of a status effect of the same category will last less in duration until complete immunity is achieved.

Plague of the Exiles in PvP is also subject to diminishing returns, with stacking effects halved after transfer.

Additionally, the severity of Restrictive status effects has been reduced, a 50% Hazard Protection lasting 5 seconds has been added to each target of all Repair skills, Poison has been included in the list of effects that enhance Hive Clear, and the enhancement duration now scales with skill level, ranging from 5 seconds to a maximum of 6.5 seconds at skill level 6.

Talent

Our goal is to make certain talents more suitable for PVP and address some balance issues. Agents can expect the following talents to be revised in PVP and PVE:

Weapon Talents

  • Doctor’s House
  • Actum Est PvP only
  • Future Perfect
  • fast
  • Thunder Clap and Perfect Thunder Clap
  • Big Game Hunter
  • Breathe Freely
  • Perfect preservation
  • Flat Line and Perfect Flat Line

Equipment Talents

  • Glass Cannon and Perfect Glass Cannon
  • Intimidate and Perfect Intimidate
  • Temporary fix
  • Process Refining
  • Improved Materials
  • obliterate:
  • Unbreakable and Perfectly Unbreakable PvP only

Dark Zone

Project Resolve introduces a sharper contrast between invaded and uninvaded Dark Zones, allowing players to customize the intensity of their gameplay experience. Our goal is to make Dark Zones easily accessible to more players, while providing a dedicated space for those who seek a more intense experience.

Here are the changes Agents can expect in non-invasion DZs:

  • “Going Rogue” activation time increased from 0.75 seconds to 5 seconds.
  • The duration of the first level of the Rogue has been increased from 20 seconds to 30 seconds.
  • Players in Rogue state will not be able to switch equipment or individual equipment while remaining in Rogue state.

We also plan to prohibit changing equipment and gear in the dark zone. Equipment and a single piece of gear can only be changed once per refresh.

repair

Among the many fixes included in Project Resolve, here are some that PVP players will appreciate the most:

Article continues below ad

  • Fixed an issue where, while using the C79 scope, if the Striker Shield was active, the Agent could aim from cover without being detected and exposed to enemy fire.
  • Fixed an issue where an Agent could shoot with any scope while using any shield and their hitbox was fully protected by the item.
  • An issue where Agents would retain the increased magazine capacity of the True Patriot Gear Set even after changing gear has been resolved.
  • Finally, an issue with ladders malfunctioning when entering cover directly behind a ladder has been fixed.

Expertise

Project Resolve makes expertise upgrades more accessible to ensure the cost of upgrading is proportional to the benefit gained. Our intention is to prioritize player time by implementing this change.
