Flaming Lips
The Flaming Lips were formed in Oklahoma in 1983. Wayne Coyne and Steven Drozd have been the band’s main members since 1991. Other members include Derek Brown, Matt Duckworth Kirksey and Nicholas Ley. The band has had different members over the years.

They started making music in the 1980s and early 1990s on a small record label called Restless. Later, they signed with Warner Bros. and released their first album in 1992. One of the songs, “She Don’t Use Jelly,” became a hit on the 1993 album. This helped them gain more attention.
In 1999, they made an album called The Soft Bulletin, which NME magazine called the best album of the year. Another hit album was Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots in 2002. This album also received a lot of praise.
They have won several awards, including three Grammys. People also love their live performances. A magazine called Q listed them in its list of “50 Bands to See Before You Die” in 2002. Overall, they have now made a place in the music industry.
