twang rock band
The Twang is an indie rock band from Birmingham, England, formed in 2004. The original lineup included drummer Phil Etheridge, Jon Watkin, Stu Hartland, Ash Sheehan and Matty Clinton. They gained recognition when NME magazine profiled them in an article about music acts in the West Midlands. Their debut single “Wide Awake” was released in 2007, while their first album “Love It When I Feel Like This” peaked at number three in the UK charts.
Over the years, The Twang have continued to release albums, with “Jewellery Quarter” ranking at No. 20 on the UK Albums Chart and “10:20” ranking at No. 52. The band’s sound continued to evolve and in 2014 they released “Neon Twang”. The most recent studio album If Confronted Just Go Mad (2019) introduced new backing vocalists Cat Mctigue and Rio Hellyer, marking the band’s continued journey in the indie rock world.
