Tintin: Cigars of the Pharaoh got off to a rocky start, with reports suggesting the game was released in an unfinished state, contrary to the intentions of its developer, Pendulo Studios. The game, based on Hergé’s famous comic, received negative reviews on Steam, citing serious and game-breaking bugs that made the adventure “virtually unplayable.” Players have reported issues ranging from glitchy chat prompts to being unable to move around the game.

Pendulo Studios acknowledged the issues in a statement on Twitter, admitting that the version didn’t meet the standards they expected. They said they are committed to delivering the necessary patches in the coming weeks to quickly resolve this issue. Despite the challenges, the studio emphasizes their commitment to creating the best possible tribute to Tintin and thanks players for their support and patience.

Microids, the game’s publisher, forwarded Pendulo Studios’ statement but did not provide further details about the release issues. Players are advised to hold off on purchasing the game until an update is released, as current reviews indicate that the missions are too buggy to complete, making it a rough experience. Despite the initial setback, future updates will hopefully bring the game closer to the intended experience.
