In the United States, 258 famous companies reported revenues of more than $2 billion. This covers 85% of listed entities, and its reported revenue covers the calendar year for 2022. Meanwhile, others have ended their fiscal year as of October 2023.

Among this elite group, Cargill has made up the highest record revenue of $177 billion in the latest fiscal year in May 2023. That figure has increased by 7% compared to the previous year.

Koch Industries ensured its position in second place and maintained its stronghold with a revenue figure of $125 billion. Despite this financial capability, the family-owned company’s year-on-year sales performance has stagnated.

It is crucial to note that the list carefully excludes entities that fall outside of certain parameters. These exclusions involve companies belonging to outside the United States, exempt from income tax (e.g., Mohigan Tribal Games Administration), co-ownership structures (e.g., state farm insurance), cooperatives (e.g., companies with less than 100 employees), and more than 50% ownership of these entities, surpassed by another public company and surpassed by other public companies.
