Meanwhile, in shooting, Mona Agarwal, who already won bronze in Paris, will compete in the mixed R6 50m rifle prone SH1 qualifying round along with Siddhartha Babu. If they qualify, both shooters will also compete in the final later today.

Which countries lead in total medals?

China continued to consolidate its lead in the Paralympic medal table, further strengthening its dominance with an impressive 62 gold medals, 46 silver medals and 27 bronze medals. In total, they won 135 medals, consolidating their first place position.

Great Britain followed closely behind with 33 gold, 25 silver and 16 bronze medals for a total of 74. Great Britain’s continued strong performances at multiple Olympic Games have firmly established them among the elite nations.

In third place was the United States, which had a balanced medal count, winning 25 gold, 26 silver and 12 bronze medals for a total of 63. This all-round success highlighted their versatility and strength.

Although the Netherlands team did not win many medals, they won fourth place with 16 gold medals, 7 silver medals and 5 bronze medals (a total of 28 medals), which fully demonstrated the power of the gold medal.

As the host nation, France finished fifth with 15 gold medals, 17 silver medals and 18 bronze medals for a total of 50. Their outstanding performance reflected both inherent talent and the passion of the home fans.

India continued its progress on the world stage by climbing to 13th position with an impressive tally of 5 gold, 9 silver and 10 bronze medals for a total of 24 medals. Particularly encouraging was the progress in the silver and bronze categories.

The 2024 Paris Paralympic Games, held from August 28 to September 8, will see a record number of 84 Indian para-athletes participating, a significant increase from the previous Paralympic Games. India will compete in 12 sports, a significant expansion from the 9 events in the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games. Notably, Indian athletes will make their debut in three new sports: Para-cycling, Para-rowing and Blind Judo.
