In the anime and manga series Jujutsu Kaisen, Toge Inumaki loses his arm in the Shibuya Incident. The last time we saw Hori was when Yuji Itadori headed to the station to find Gojo. However, on the way, he encountered several shape-shifters who attacked civilians. “Jujutsu Kaisen” is a Japanese manga series created by Akimi’s brother. The story has been serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump since March 2018 and revolves around high school student Yuji Itatori. Yuuji joins a secret organization of jujutsu mages to fight a powerful curse called Ryomen Sukuna, who takes over Yuuji as its host.
The comic has become so popular that as of October 2023, 24 single volumes have been published. Hatami’s older work “Tokyo Jujutsu School” serves as a prequel, titled “Jujutsu Kaiden 0”, creating a broader narrative.
In North America, Viz Media holds the English license and has published the comic since December 2019. Shueisha also offers the series on the Manga Plus online platform.

Jujutsu Kaisen follows strong high school student Yuji Itadori, who encounters a curse when his friends open a cursed amulet following a message left by his grandfather on his deathbed. In order to protect the jujutsu mage Megumi Fushiguro, Yuuji swallowed a cursed finger and became the host of a dangerous curse called “Ryomen Sukuna”. Due to Sukuna’s evil nature, the wizards’ goal is to destroy Yuuji. However, the jujutsu mage Satoru Gojo came up with a different plan: delaying Yuuji’s death and training him to consume all 20 of Sukuna’s fingers to remove the curse.
While Yuuji trains with Megumi and classmate Nohara Kugisaki, dark forces, including the Cursed Spirits and corrupt wizards like Makoto and Gotou Katsu, are plotting against the magical world of Jujutsu. The story unfolds with battles, alliances, and revelations, leading to a multi-layered attack on Shibuya by cursed spirits. The story introduces some powerful characters, including the mysterious Kenjia, who plans to merge his consciousness with the Japanese people.
Faced with challenges, betrayals, and an elimination game orchestrated by Kengo, Yuuji joins forces with other jujutsu mages with the goal of rescuing their mentor Gojo and thwarting Kengo’s apocalyptic plans. The storyline takes an intense turn, including a battle with a powerful cursed spirit, the emergence of a new magician, and the final showdown between Yuuji and Sukuna. The story ends with sacrifice, determination, and characters confronting Kendja’s legacy.
How did Inumaki lose his arm?
