Bates and his team showed their determination by rebuilding the vessel beam by beam and bolt by bolt. Although some doubted its success, once operational, the dredge was able to process an impressive 2,000 gallons of water per minute. Tony Beatts is a well-known Klondike gold producer, best known for his role in the reality TV series, The Gold Rush. Originally from the Netherlands, he moved to Canada 25 years ago to operate out of the Paradise Hills Mine in Paradise Hills. Tony advised the Hoffman Group at a critical juncture and eventually hired a driller at Quartz Creek.
He also mentors Parker Schnabel and owns the Scrivener Creek Mine, which Schnabel leased in Season 4. In Season 5, Tony invested $1 million to purchase a large dredge in Clear Creek as his new site. His primary income comes from gold mining, as well as income from the “Gold Rush”, estimated at about $25,000 per episode. Tony Beatts’ journey reflects his tenacity, dedication, and success in the gold mining industry since he began working in 1984 after three years in construction in Dawson City.
