What is the 22nd Amendment of the USA Constitution? Can Trump Run for Office Again in 2028?

Donald Trump was re-elected President of the United States after winning an astonishing 295 electoral votes from each state in the United States. His campaign pledged to continue focusing on economic growth and national security.

However, the 22nd Amendment to the U.S. Constitution prohibits anyone from being elected to the office of President more than twice.

Furthermore, a person who has served as President or Acting President for more than two years during the term in which another person was elected President may not be elected President more than once.

Donald Trump was elected as the 45th President of the United States, serving one term and losing his re-election bid in 2020. Currently, he won the 2024 presidential election and is about to begin his second presidential term.

So a pressing question arises: Can Trump run for president again in 2028? If he ran again in 2028, he would violate the 22nd Amendment limit on serving more than two terms as president.
