Boruto is a Japanese manga series written by Ukyo Kodachi and Masashi Kishimoto, with illustrations by Mikio Ikemoto. The manga began in May 2016 under the name Boruto: Naruto Next Generations and moved to Shueisha V Jump in July 2019. After Ukyo Kodachi left in November 2020, Masashi Kishimoto took over as screenwriter. The story is a spin-off and sequel to Kishimoto’s Naruto, telling the story of Uzumaki Naruto’s son Boruto Uzumaki and his ninja team.

The anime adaptation ran for 293 episodes from April 2017 to March 2023 and was well received for its mix of old and new characters. Boruto: Blue Vortex anime plot

In the anime Boruto: Blue Whirlpool, three years later, Sarada works to convince the 8th Hokage, Shikamaru Nara, of Boruto’s innocence. A threat emerges when Code leads an army of monsters to attack the village. Boruto steps in to help fight Code. The village is focused on the ongoing battle, delaying resolution of Boruto’s situation.

Although Boruto defeats Code, Kawaki’s unexpected attack allows Code to escape before he can obtain important information about the Ten-Tails. Determined to hunt Code down, Boruto uses the Flying Thunder God Technique to reach the dimension where Code and the Ten-Tails are. With the support of Kashin Mitsuko, Boruto confronts Code next to the tree where Sasuke is imprisoned.
