In 1939, young Anne Frank (Hannah Taylor-Gordon) realizes that her world is changing as the Nazis invade the Netherlands. Her family’s rights were stripped away and they were forced to register as Jews and wear yellow stars. Anne attends a Jewish high school, becomes friends with Jacqueline (Victoria Anne Brown), and falls in love with Haro (Nikki Cantor). On her 13th birthday, she received a plaid diary and began writing.

In 1942, Anne’s sister Margot (Jessica Manley) is asked to be deported. The Franks and the Van Pels (Joachim Kroll, Brenda Bleth, Nicholas Audsley) and Fritz Pfeffer (Jan Niklas) Moved into the “secret annex” together. Anne and Peter (Nicholas Oudsley) formed an indissoluble bond, but Fritz became her rival. They lived in fear and Anne experienced her first period. The annex is threatened by thieves.
In 1944, the Franks were denounced and arrested. They were sent to the Westerbork transit camp and later to Auschwitz. Anne and Margot are separated from their father. They were eventually sent to Bergen-Belsen, where conditions were harsh. Annie sees her friend Hannah (Jade Williams) from a distance. Margot fell ill and died.
After the war, Otto Frank (played by Ben Kingsley) discovered Anne’s diary and learned of her death. Miep Guice (played by Lili Taylor) gave him the diary that he kept. Otto visits the empty annex and breaks down in front of Anne’s walls. The epilogue reveals the fate of the characters mentioned in the story.
