Studies written by Dr. Shammika RAVI entitled “The Time to Employment Related Employment Activities: Notes” shows that Indian workers spend an average of 422 minutes per day for paid economic activities. In other words, 42 hours per week (assuming 6 days per week).

In India, the average daily spending time on paid economic activities or “work” is about 422 minutes. For a typical 6 -day working week, this is equivalent to 42.2 hours per week.
It is worth noting that there are significant differences between states. Daman & Diu and Dadra & Nagar Haveli and other federal areas have worked for more than 600 minutes per day, which is equivalent to working more than 10 hours a day.
In contrast, Gua and other areas and most parts of the northeast work per day in less than 360 minutes, which is equivalent to less than 6 hours. The average person in Delhi worked 8.3 hours a day, while Gua Abon was 5.5 hours, and Assam was 5.87 hours.

In rural areas, Dadra and Nagar Haveli have the longest working hours, about 68.4 hours per week (589 minutes per day).
