Who is Ashley Biden? Daughter Honors Her Father as ‘OG Girl Dad’ at 2024 Democratic National Convention

Ashley Blaze Biden was born on June 8, 1981, in Wilmington, Delaware. Her father, Jill Biden, is a teacher, and her mother, Joe Biden, is a U.S. Senator. She is the half-sister of Beau Biden, Hunter Biden, and Naomi Biden, all of whom were born to her father and his first wife, Neilia Hunter. Biden was raised in the Catholic faith and attended Wilmington Friends School and Archmere Academy in Delaware.

Education and Career

Biden graduated from Tulane University in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in cultural anthropology. In 2010, she received a master’s degree in social work from the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Social Policy and Practice.

Biden previously worked as a social worker and professional development and education liaison in the Office of Education for the Delaware Department of Children, Youth and Family Services. She developed programs for children in the juvenile justice, foster care and mental health systems. From 2014 to 2019, she served as executive director of the Delaware Justice Center.

Biden left his job at the Delaware Justice Center in 2019 to work on his father’s presidential campaign. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in clinical social work at the University of Pennsylvania.

Fashion and Activism

Biden launched the ethical fashion clothing brand Livelihood Collection at New York Fashion Week in 2017. The brand partnered with Gilt Groupe and Aubrey Plaza to raise funds for community projects dedicated to combating income inequality in the United States.

As a child, Biden discovered that the cosmetics company Bonne Bell tested its products on animals. She wrote a letter to the company asking them to change their animal testing policies. Later, she became involved in dolphin protection and inspired her father to work with Congresswoman Barbara Boxer to draft and pass the Dolphin Protection Consumer Information Act of 1990.

Personal life

Biden married Howard Crane, an otolaryngologist and plastic surgeon in Philadelphia, in 2012. They have no children.
