Early Career
Joe Root started his cricket career at his father’s club, Sheffield University Cricket Club; he dreamed of becoming a cricketer like his father and England cricket captain Michael Vaughan. He played for Yorkshire II in 2007 and was also a member of the England youth team that participated in the 2009 World Cup. He continued to perform well and was selected for the national team.
