Who is Kahoori in the MCU?
Introduced in “What If…? Season 2,” Kahhori is a seminal character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Kahouri is voiced by Canadian Mohawk actress Devry Jacobs, a young Mohawk woman from the pre-colonial American Haudenosaunee Confederation. In “What If…Kahori Remade the World?” After entering a mysterious lake to escape the Spanish conquistadors, she gains superhuman abilities from the Infinity Stones.

What makes Kaholi unique is her unique origins. She is the first Marvel Universe hero to have no comic book background. Mohawk historian Doug George said the episode presents a remarkable story from a Mohawk perspective, providing viewers with a new and interesting perspective on the indigenous people of this land.
This episode emphasizes working with the Mohawk community to ensure authenticity from dialogue to décor. Screenwriter Ryan Little worked closely with a mentor familiar with Aboriginal communities to create a completely original part of the MCU. Kahhori’s name is pronounced “KAH-HORTI” which means “she stirs up the forest” or one who inspires those around her.
