Who is Natarajan Chandrasekaran? Chairman of the Tata Group

Natarajan Chandrasekaran, known simply as “Chandra”, is one of India’s most prominent business figures and currently serves as chairman of Tata Sons, the Tata Group holding company. Born on June 2, 1963 in Mohanur, Tamil Nadu, to a farming family, he completed courses in Applied Science and Computer Applications, received his Bachelor of Engineering degree from Coimbatore Institute of Technology and further in Engineering from Coimbatore Institute of Technology. Career experience

Chandrasekaran joined Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) in 1987 and served for nearly three decades until his appointment as chief operating officer in 2007. Subsequently, Chandrasekaran became the company’s youngest CEO at the age of 45, compared to some other CEOs in Tata’s history, when he took over as CEO of the company in October 2009. Under his leadership, TCS became India’s most valuable company and a major player in the global IT space. He succeeded Cyrus Mistry as chairman of Tata Sons when Cyrus Mistry was ousted in January 2017 and the group fell into Huge turmoil.
