Who was Madhura Pandit Jasraj? Wife of the Late Music Maestro Passes Away at 86!

Madhura Pandit Jasraj, wife of late classical singer Pt Jasraj and daughter of filmmaker V Shantaram, died of old age illness in the early hours of Wednesday.

Madhura, like her father, is a writer-producer who made her Marathi debut with the 2010 film Aai Tujha Aashirwad and holds the record for being the oldest debutant director of a feature film in the Limka Book of Records.

She was married to one of India’s leading classical singers, the late Pandit Jasraj, who died of a heart attack at his home in New Jersey at the age of 90. To keep her father in her memory forever, Madhura wrote a biography of her father titled V Shantaram.

Additionally, Madhura, a prolific writer, director, producer and choreographer, made the documentary Sangeet Martand Pandit Jasraj in 2009 in memory of her husband.
