Miranda Leigh Lambert, born November 10, 1983, is an acclaimed American country singer, songwriter and guitarist. Originally from Longview, Texas, Lambert began her musical journey in early 2001 when she independently released her self-titled debut album.

Her talent and passion for music caught the attention of many, and she gained national recognition in 2003 when she placed third in the television singing competition “Nashville Star,” which aired on USA Network.

In July 2008, “Gunpowder & Lead” entered the top ten for the first time.
