“The Move” unfolds in the New England woods, where worried father Mike Mallard discourages his children, Dax and Gwen, from exploring the outside world, much to the dismay of his wife, Pam. An encounter with migrating ducks heading to Jamaica piques the family’s interest, but Mike remains uninterested. Pam urges Mike to open his eyes to the world, which causes Mike to change his mind. Uncle Dan and his family embark on an unexpected journey to the north instead of the south.

While sheltering from a storm, they meet the eccentric herons Eileen and Harry. Despite being scared at first, the herons are kind-hearted and save Dax and Gwen. In New York City, Uncle Dan’s antics get the Ducks and the Pigeons, led by Chubby, involved, but Pam’s confidence wins over Chubby. With the help of caged macaw Delroy, they venture to Jamaica, facing the challenges of a duck farm and a chef’s helicopter chase.

Dax bravely frees the trapped bird, and the family arrives in Jamaica with a newfound unity. Delroy reunites with his friends, and the mallards bond with the duck family. The end of the movie hints that the penguins will head to Antarctica for more adventures. “The Immigrant” blends humor, adventure and family bonds to tell the story of this unexpected and heartwarming journey.
