Black Ops 6 will be available on PC via Steam and Battle.net, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 on October 25, 2024. Black Ops 6 “is an espionage action-thriller set in the early 1990s, a period of global political transformation and upheaval, marked by the end of the Cold War and the rise of the United States as the sole superpower.”

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 gameplay and modes

The game will include campaign, multiplayer, and zombie modes for players to enjoy. The campaign takes players back to the early 1990s, when the US government had become one of the most powerful nations. In this story, players will explore conspiracies and uncover secrets within the US government. The entire story will take the series back to the past, when Black Ops storylines were more focused on “mind-bending psychological revelations” and unfathomable truths.

Multiplayer mode offers players 16 new maps on day one. These maps include 12 core six-on-six arenas and four small strike battlefields. Players can find many significant improvements in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 in multiplayer. For example, the game has improved movement mechanics, increased enemy hit zones, more equipment, better HUD optimization, and the return of Theater Mode and Classic Prestige.

Last but not least, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6’s Zombies mode will feature the return of turn-based Zombies – a mode where players will take down hordes of the undead. “Players can expect two brand new maps at launch, as well as plenty of secrets to discover.”

Black Ops 6 Download and Expected Content

Black Ops 6

A blog post by Treyarch and Raven Software on the launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 caused the community to panic about the game’s alleged download size, which was later confirmed to be untrue. The size was initially announced as a staggering 300GB, but it was later revealed that this was “the sum of Modern Warfare II, Modern Warfare III, Warzone and all related content packs, including all localizations, and is not representative of the typical player installation experience.”

While the developer didn’t reveal the actual download size, it’s likely to be between 100-200GB, which is significantly less. The previous game, Black Ops 5, required over 130GB of storage space, so it’s safe to assume that Black Ops 6 will be around the same size, if not more.
