The best brawlers in Brawl Stars

In Brawl Stars, certain Brawlers stand out as the first choice due to their superior abilities and combat effectiveness.

Leon

Leon is one of the best damage dealers in Brawl Stars, wielding four knives and excelling in both short-range and long-range combat. While his attack may take some getting used to, mastering it yields extraordinary results. His smoke bomb ability facilitates easy escapes and surprise attacks, providing a host of advantages once players master his playstyle.

Bonnie

Bonnie becomes a versatile and powerful force in different game modes. Her strength in speed, damage, health, and adaptability make her a formidable competitor, especially in duels, and her toughness and versatility make her challenging.

squeak

Despite its relatively low damage output, Squeak excels at controlling specific areas and limiting the opponent’s movement. As a tactical tank, the Cheek’s purpose is to deny enemy brawlers access to key areas, proving extremely valuable in modes such as Heist and Siege.

square

Fang firmly ranks at the top of the list due to his balanced attributes of high health, damage output, and fast movement. Although his attack range is short, his versatility as a damage dealer more than makes up for it. Mastering Fang’s superpowers effectively against tanky opponents requires strategic planning, making him a valuable asset in combat scenarios.

Brawl game gameplay

In Brawl Stars, players can engage in exciting battles against other players or AI opponents in various game modes. The core of the game revolves around choosing characters known as “Brawlers”, who possess unique abilities and advantages. These brawlers can be unlocked through a variety of means, such as boxes, Brawl Passes, Trophy Roads, or purchased through the in-game store. In a major update in December 2022, boxes were replaced with Points and Chroma Points, used to unlock most Brawlers, now primarily found in Starr Road.

The game offers multiple game modes, each with its own specific objectives and challenges. Players can choose to team up with friends, inviting them to compete in maximum team size matches, depending on the selected game mode. This collaborative element allows players to strategize and coordinate with friends for a more effective gaming experience.

In addition, players can enhance their gaming experience by acquiring skins using gems, star points, or gold coins, or by unlocking skins through the Brawl Pass. These skins modify the appearance, animations, effects, and sounds of Brawlers, adding an additional layer of customization and personalization to gameplay.

Brawl Stars development

Brawl Stars was crafted by Supercell to be a team-based game built specifically for mobile devices, reminiscent of popular games like League of Legends and Overwatch. Frank Keienburg from Supercell emphasized that their goal is to retain the depth of the game while eliminating unnecessary complexity and focusing on mobile-first design concepts.

The game went through an extensive soft launch phase and improvements were made in almost every aspect. Supercell officially launched Brawl Stars via live broadcast in June 2017, and began a soft launch for iOS in Canada the next day. The soft launch took an unprecedented 522 days, during which time numerous changes were made, including a move from portrait mode using click controls to landscape mode using analog controls. Significant changes have been made to the game’s user interface, metagame, and transition from 2D to 3D visuals, reflecting the developers’ dedication to perfecting the gaming experience.

Frank Keienburg acknowledged the challenges encountered during the beta phase, attributing them to exploring a new game genre where the game’s success was initially uncertain. The game’s soft launch gradually expanded to multiple countries ahead of its global launch. It was initially introduced to iOS in select regions in January 2018 and transitioned to Android in June 2018, continuing the soft launch process. Finally, “Brawl Stars” was officially launched globally on December 12, 2018, with revenue reaching US$63 million in the first month. The film premiered on June 9, 2020, and was released in mainland China, further expanding its global influence.
