Initially, the tournament was held every two years until 2009, when it was derailed by the cancellation of Pakistan’s scheduled tournament, resulting in the tournament being moved to South Africa. Since then, the ICC Champions Trophy has been held at a longer interval of four years. As for the 2025 route, the tournament will feature hosts Pakistan and the top seven teams from the group stage of the 2023 ICC ODI World Cup.

Format of the 2025 Cricket Champions Trophy

The format of the 2025 Champions Trophy follows the traditional structure. It consists of four teams divided into two groups, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the semi-finals and finally the finals.
