Cyberpunk 2077 Update 1.63 Patch Notes: What’s New?

Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077 is a thrilling action role-playing video game developed and published by CD Projekt Red that immerses players in the futuristic and sprawling Night City. As the mysterious mercenary V, players can freely customize the character’s hacking, mechanical, melee and ranged combat skills.

The gripping main story delves into V’s struggle with a mysterious cybernetic implant that has the potential to overwrite deceased celebrities’ existences with their memories and personalities, so the two must form a desperate alliance to save V’s life. Development of the game began following the successful release of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Blood and Wine in 2016.

With over 500 talented people working tirelessly on the cutting-edge REDengine 4 game engine, CD Projekt has established a new division in Wroclaw, Poland, with esteemed partners such as Digital Scapes, Nvidia, QLOC and Jali Research cooperate. Acclaimed cyberpunk creator Mike Pondsmith provided valuable consultation, and the game boasts the star power of critically acclaimed actor Keanu Reeves.

The original score is led by the talented Marcin Przybyłowicz and features contributions from a wide range of licensed artists. After years of eager anticipation, Cyberpunk 2077 launches on PlayStation 4, Stadia, Windows and Xbox One on December 10, 2020, followed by PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on February 15, 2022 release. The game features an engaging narrative, immersive environments and stunning graphics.

However, some gameplay aspects elicited mixed reactions, and there was discussion surrounding the game’s depiction of certain themes and transgender characters. Additionally, the console version faced performance issues and numerous bugs, leading to its removal from the PlayStation Store between December 2020 and June 2021. CD Projekt faced an investigation and class-action lawsuit for trying to downplay technical issues before launch, ultimately settling for $1.85 million.

Despite these challenges, Cyberpunk 2077 has sold more than 20 million copies as of September 2022, underscoring its enduring popularity. Fans can look forward to the upcoming expansion Phantom Free, which will launch on September 26, 2023 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, and a sequel has also been announced.
