His initiatives as Transport Minister were particularly notable; he implemented the Electric Vehicle Policy, introduced the Pink Pass Scheme for free bus travel for women, and oversaw the addition of over 1,000 electric buses to Delhi’s public transport system. 

He also prioritized women’s safety in public transport by deploying marshals and increasing the recruitment of women drivers. However, on November 17, 2024, Gahlot resigned from AAP and his ministerial position, citing unfulfilled promises and controversies within the party. 

The following day, he joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), marking a significant shift in his political career. His departure from AAP was framed as a response to internal challenges and a perceived deviation from the party’s original values.

7) Kapil Mishra (Karawal Nagar Constituency)

Subsequently, he accused Kejriwal and former Health Minister Satyendar Jain of corruption, claiming that they were involved in a ₹2 crore bribery scandal. 

Despite his allegations, investigations by the Anti-Corruption Bureau and Lokayukta did not substantiate his claims, leading to his suspension from AAP.

In August 2019, Mishra was disqualified from the Delhi Legislative Assembly under the anti-defection law after campaigning for the BJP during the Lok Sabha elections. Shortly thereafter, he officially joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Since joining the BJP, Mishra has been active in various capacities, including being appointed as the Vice President of the Delhi BJP in August 2023.
