The BJP fell short of a majority in the 543-seat lower house of the Indian parliament, the Lok Sabha, by 272 seats. However, the party still secured a majority along with its allies.

Situation in Uttar Pradesh
The results in Uttar Pradesh are perhaps the most interesting. The state has been governed by the BJP since 2017. This time, however, the people of the state have chosen to write their own destiny differently.

The state has a total of 80 parliamentary constituencies. In the 2024 elections, it is known that TMC has won 29 seats in West Bengal this time, while BJP has won only 12. The remaining seats have been won by the Congress party in the state.
Results for Kerala
The BJP has been struggling to win elections in Kerala. Interestingly, the party got lucky this time as Suresh Gopi won in Thrissur constituency by just 74,686 votes. This made him the first Lok Sabha MP from the BJP in Kerala.
