F1 23 Canadian settings
Canada is highly regarded by Formula 1 fans as one of the most popular circuits. Its layout poses a challenge for teams and drivers as they must find the right balance between top speed and aerodynamic grip. The circuit has several long straights interspersed with chicanes, adding to the complexity of the car’s set-up.
One of the noteworthy aspects of the track is the good passing opportunities at the hairpins, Wall of Champions and Turn 1. However, having the wall too close means pushing too hard into the chicane could result in damage to the car, such as missing front wings or wheels.
While Canada’s tire wear requirements aren’t particularly strict, the rear tires can struggle due to the many heavy traction zones on slow-speed corners. This aspect requires careful tire management throughout the race to maintain optimal performance.
aerodynamics:
To maximize straight-line speed on Canadian circuits, low wing angles are recommended. The ideal setting is 24-19, although you can lower these values slightly to get a higher top speed. Keep in mind that reducing wing angle too much will make the car harder to control and increase tire wear.
spread:
For differential settings, a balanced approach is recommended. Set the throttle differential to 55% and the throttle-off differential to 53%. This will provide good spin on and off the throttle.
Suspension geometry:
The suspension geometry is the same as in the F1 22. Set the camber value to -2.50, -1.00, 0.00 and the toe value to 0.10. This setup will give you plenty of grip without significantly affecting tire life.
pause:
For suspension settings, a good starting point is 30-15 for suspension and 7-3 for anti-roll bars. This setup provides a balance between spin in slow corners and stability when power is restored. If you experience rear slide on corner exit, you can add a click or two to the rear suspension and rear anti-roll bars.
Body height:
Set the ride height to 35-35, which is slightly higher than the lowest setting possible. This will provide plenty of grip around corners without causing too much drag on the straights. If you have difficulty staying within the track boundaries or experience roadside floor damage, you can increase the ride height to around 37 or 38 to protect the car.
brake:
In terms of braking, 100% brake pressure is used and the brake bias is set to 57% to achieve balanced distribution front and rear. Be careful as it is easier to lock the brakes in F1 23. If you find it difficult to manage without ABS, you can reduce the brake pressure and adjust the braking points accordingly.
tire:
For tire pressure, it is recommended to use the minimum pressure across the board. This will help maintain tire performance throughout the race. However, keep in mind that you may need to warm up the tires a little during your outer lap and warm-up lap.
Adjustment:
If you want to fine-tune your settings, here are some other tweaks you can try:
-
Lower the wing level 1-3 times for better top speed, but be aware that this may affect turning ability and high-speed stability.
-
If the car lacks responsiveness when entering a corner, lift the front wings a moment or two.
-
If the car feels loose at low speeds, consider moving the off-throttle differential to 53/54 to improve stability.
-
Stiffen the front suspension and anti-roll bars to make the car more responsive, but be aware that this may make towing more challenging.
-
Adjust the brake bias mid-lap to optimize performance in heavy and light braking areas.
-
Locking is easier to achieve in the F1 23, with front locking being less of an issue than rear locking. Adjust brake bias accordingly to reduce the possibility of locking up.
-
In short online races, add a little tire pressure to improve the warm-up.
Keep in mind that these settings are for intermediate players using assists like traction control and ABS. Feel free to experiment and adjust the settings to suit your driving style and preferences.
