“Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising” is a 2.5D fighting game produced by Arc System Works and brought to you by Cygames. As the sequel to “Granblue Fantasy Versus”, the game will be released globally on December 14, 2023, and can be played on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Windows.

Granblue Fantasy VS Rise of Lucilius

Granblue Fantasy Versus Rise announced exciting updates during a recent livestream, including the return of powerful character Lucilius from the original mobile game. Initially a non-playable boss, Lucilius will become playable in January 2024, voiced by Takahiro Sakurai (Japanese) and Sean Chiplock (English). The first character pass will start with Lucilius and is scheduled to launch in mid-January, with five additional characters to follow throughout the year, hinting at continued content rollout in 2025.

The livestream showcased the expanded story of Chapter 3, featuring Lucilius as the protagonist, as well as the game’s update roadmap, introducing new stages, features and January’s online lobby update. Granblue Fantasy Versus Rise brings exciting gameplay updates that introduce new mechanics to enhance the gaming experience. Players can now enjoy new dash attacks and upgraded auto combos (now called triple attacks).

Notably, the network code has been improved, adding rollback and cross-platform play capabilities to ensure smoother online interactions. The game also features a lobby-based mini-game called “Grand Bruise Legends!” These include fun events like “Rising Royale” and “Gold Brick Hoarder,” inspired by the Granblue Fantasy webcomic series “Grand Blues!”

All your favorite characters from the original game return in the base roster. Additionally, four new characters join the lineup, and six DLC characters are also included in the pack. Lunalu plays the main random slot machine role.
