Currently, the Janata Party has 10 MLAs in the 90-member House of Representatives, while the BJP has 41. Six of the seven independents sided with the ruling coalition. Even without the support of the BJP, the party seems to be in a good position in Haryana. The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and the Haryana Janata Party have one seat each, while the main opposition Congress party has 30 MLAs.
