It’s a mixed group and they do just enough to stay competitive. Each hero has unique strengths and weaknesses, so it’s important to choose one that matches your preferred playstyle. If you like dealing damage, choose Assassin or Warrior. If, on the other hand, you prefer to provide healing support and stay connected to your allies in all situations, consider a support hero like Uther or Ana.

Heroes of the Storm Overview

Heroes of the Storm is a multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) video game produced and published by Blizzard Entertainment. It was originally released on June 2, 2015 for OS X and Windows platforms. The game stands out for having a diverse cast of playable heroes from Blizzard’s popular franchises, including Warcraft, Diablo, StarCraft, and Overwatch. These heroes fight on various battlefields themed to their respective universes.

In Heroes of the Storm, teams of five players compete in 5-on-5 matches, with an average duration of approximately 20 minutes. The goal is to destroy the enemy team’s main structure, the “King Core”, to ensure victory. Each battlefield presents a unique metagame and secondary objectives that often provide a huge advantage in terms of momentum when completed. Players control a heroic character, each with their own set of abilities and unique playstyle. Throughout the game, heroes gain experience points, level up and unlock talents that provide new abilities or enhance existing ones, thereby contributing to the overall team strategy.

The game is inspired by War of the Ancients (DotA), a popular mod based on Warcraft III and developed by Blizzard Entertainment. Heroes of the Storm is a free-to-play game supported by optional microtransactions. Players have the option to purchase additional heroes, cosmetic changes to heroes, mounts, and other cosmetic elements to personalize their gaming experience. Originally called Heroes Brawl, Blizzard later adopted the more common term Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) to describe the game.

As of July 2022, Blizzard Entertainment has halted major development of Heroes of the Storm and moved it into maintenance mode, indicating that there will be no further major updates or expansions for the game.
