Indian HMPV case

As of January 8, 2025, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has confirmed 7 cases in the states of Karnataka, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu. Allaying fears, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said people need not panic as the virus is not fatal although the virus has been detected in two cases in the state. He told people to follow health department guidelines and exercise caution.
