The first step to defeating the boss is to use the Red Mane Freya NPC summon from the golden sign outside the Divine Beast Dance Lion Gate. This will summon a character from the Three Cross Lands to help you in the battle.

You should also bring your own summons into the fight, such as Mimic Spirit Ash, to help with the distraction. Even with the Scadutree Fragments and Revered Spirit Ash upgrades, this can be a difficult fight.

During the first phase of the fight, the lion will pound you with headbutts and smoke attacks. Your best bet is to constantly roll and dodge these attacks, while aiming for the head and back whenever possible.

The second phase of the battle will begin with the use of different elemental attacks, such as lightning, ice, and wind. There will be lightning bolts, shocks from the ground, blizzards that cause frostbite, ice spikes, and tornadoes.

This is where having a companion comes in handy, they can distract it while you dodge from a safe distance. It will mix elemental attacks with its regular attacks, so it’s best to use its first move first.
