India’s current captain and opening batsman Rohit Sharma has hit 48 sixes in 45 matches, including 8 sixes in the last match against Australia on June 24, 2024, thereby moving to the second position in the list of players who have hit most sixes in the history of the T20 World Cup. Rohit also became the first batsman to hit 200 sixes in a T20 match.
Jos Buttler – 43 sixes
England captain and wicketkeeper Jos Buttler, known for his explosive batting ability, is at number 3. He played 34 matches and hit 43 sixes. England has reached the semi-finals of the 2024 T20 World Cup where they will play against India on June 27, 2024.
This number is expected to rise further.

David Warner – 40 sixes
The diminutive Australian opener David Warner is fourth in the list of players who have hit most sixes in the T20 World Cup. He has hit 40 sixes in 41 matches so far and he will not be able to repeat his feat in this tournament as Australia failed to qualify for the semi-finals of the 2024 T20 World Cup.
Yuvraj Singh – 33 sixes
Yuvraj Singh, a left-handed middle-order batsman from India, is fifth on the list with 33 sixes in 31 matches. He is the only player to have hit six sixes in one over in a T20 World Cup. He created this unique record in the 2007 T20 World Cup.
Virat Kohli – 32 sixes
Virat Kohli is one of the greatest batsmen in the history of cricket, across all formats of the game. He ranks sixth on the list with 32 sixes in 33 matches. His ability is so great that he is the highest run-scorer in the T20 World Cup and has won the Player of the Tournament title twice, in 2014 and 2016.
Shane Watson – 31 sixes
Former Australian all-rounder Shane Watson is seventh on the list with 31 sixes in 24 matches.
Glenn Maxwell – 30 sixes
Glenn Maxwell is the player with the most sixes in the T20 World Cup, ranking eighth. He has hit 30 sixes in the 31 matches he has played so far.
AB de Villiers – 30 sixes
AB de Villiers, also known as “Mr 360”, is a legend in T20 cricket, known for his versatility in the game.
Rahmanullah Gurbaz – 28 sixes
Rounding out the top ten is Rahmanullah Gurbaz, a talented young wicketkeeper-batsman from Afghanistan who performed well in the T20 World Cup 2024. In total, he hit 28 sixes in 15 matches.
This makes him the fastest batsman to hit more than 25 sixes in a T20 World Cup.
