How to catch Piplup in Pokemon Scarlet and Purple Blue?

To catch Piplup in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s Indigo Disk, you’ll first need to do a little extra work. Piplup and other returning starter Pokémon won’t appear in Terarium right away. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you:

Upgrade the polar biomes:

  • Head to the main entrance of Blueberry Academy. Walk up to the barrier and select “League Club Room” in the list that appears.

Contribute BP:

  • In the Alliance Club room, interact with the computer on the left. Select “Contribute BP”. Navigate to the “Terarium Club” option and select “Boost Biodiversity in the Polar Biome!” This upgrade requires 3,000 BP, so if you don’t have enough BP, complete the mission to collect more.

Purchase upgrades:

  • Once you reach the required BP, purchase upgrades to increase the biodiversity of the polar biome.

Travel to the Polar Biome:

  • After purchasing the upgrade, head to the polar biome. You can see Piplup swimming in the water near the central square. Additionally, you may spot one climbing over an iceberg in the northern part of the biome.

Grab Piplup:

  • Once you enter the polar biome, keep an eye out for Piplup. Use your Pokémon catching skills to add this adorable Water-type Penguin Pokémon to your collection. I spotted one swimming in the water near the central square, but you may also spot them on the icebergs to the north.
