Where to buy flint in Pax Dei
When you look up the recipes for some of the basic tools, you’ll see flint. However, this resource is called flint when you see it, but it’s the same thing. They’re these shiny looking rocks in the ground, but they differ from gneiss in that they have some darker shades on them.
As with most survival crafting games, these flints will spawn near a river, surprisingly they don’t spawn randomly anywhere on the map. Depending on the starting area you choose, the river can be very far or very close to you. Go to the flint spawn point and pick it up using any tool you want.
Some players even try to build plots near the center so that they are close to a river. This does have some advantages due to the abundance of other resources in the area. You can easily get food in the form of various mushrooms and berries, and flax will often spawn in the area as well.

Most basic tools in the early game require flint to craft. Flint is required to craft basic leatherworking tools and basic fletching tools. Both of these tools unlock useful items such as bows, leather armor, and animal hides.
If you want some sort of ranger class, then farming flint should be a top priority, along with farming bone fragments from animals to get those tools as quickly as possible.
