The mission to find the Microcosm Trace Rifle is titled “Rehabilitation: Germination” and is not unlocked at the start of the Final Form campaign. The mission is given to players later in the game’s campaign and requires the completion of several tasks.

The process begins by completing the Iconoclasm quest in the campaign. This opens up the Pale Heart as a patrol zone and gives players a few different objectives to complete. The game prompts you to start the Destined Heroes quest to obtain the Ergo Sum Exotic sword, but players only need to complete the Queens, Part 1 step to complete the Microcosm quest.

Then players need to complete three tasks to obtain the microcosm task:

Micah-10 in The Lost City will offer players a Microcosm quest after completing the last quest in the list. However, the next part can be a hassle if you are not well prepared.

In the Rehabilitation: Germination mission, players will replay three missions from Final Form with a modifier called “Focused Collaboration.” The three missions are “The Ascent,” “Dissent,” and “Iconoclasm.”

Three Focus Cooperative missions can be found under the Replayable Missions banner on the Pale Heart map. These missions start at 2005 Power, require a pre-group, and do not offer matchmaking.

They each contain three game modifiers that require communication with your team. The first feature is a different version of Glyphtouched, where only one player can pass through glowing symbols. However, the player cannot see the symbols, while the other two players can and must direct.

The second feature is the Berserker, this enemy has weaknesses on the front and back, which must be hit at the same time. Then two dark crosses will appear, and the team must shoot them at the same time.

The final feature is the Fracture debuff, which continuously infects players on your team. Once the debuff reaches 7, the affected player will be unable to use abilities, but another player can then interact with the affected player and take on the debuff themselves. Players will swap the Fracture debuff between each other until the objective is completed, or the debuff reaches 10 and kills the entire team.

Once you’ve completed all three Focus Cooperative missions, return to Micah-10 and he’ll give you the Microcosm Exotic Trace Rifle of the appropriate power level.
