Where to buy wooden dowels in Pax Dei
The first thing you need to do is to craft a Wooden Chopping Block using a Construction Hammer. If you haven’t crafted a Construction Hammer yet, you should press “Tab” and find the Construction Hammer crafting button to craft it.
Use a construction hammer and 10 sapwood to craft a chopping block. Currently, you can place it anywhere. You can always destroy it and get all the resources back. Go to the chopping block and look for pegs. To craft pegs, you need 5 sapwood per crafting. However, each crafting gives you 50 pegs, so it’s not too bad.
They can only be stacked up to 100 in an inventory or chest, so unless your base has plenty of storage space, it’s not a good idea to craft large quantities of pegs. Also, you may need extra sapwood to craft other base building materials, such as planks.
What are wooden pegs used for?
Even though 5 blocks of sapwood can make 50 pegs, it is still one of the most common resources in the early game, so you will still need a lot of them.

Wooden pegs can be used to craft beds, wooden capstans (for making wells), certain workbenches, walls, stairs, and roofs.
Depending on the design of your base, walls, stairs, and roofs will already require thousands of pegs. If you go further and unlock other workbenches like archery, tailoring, or leatherworking, you’ll need even more pegs.
