What is the tactical stance in Modern Warfare 3?
In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (MW3), the Tac-Stance is a tactical stance that serves as a balance option between shooting from the hip and aiming downward. This feature allows players to benefit from both shooting styles – it concentrates the spread of bullets more than regular hip-fire while maintaining faster mobility compared to aiming down.

Additionally, when you’re in a tactical stance, you’ll automatically fire while gliding, making gliding shooting a more viable strategy. However, it may take some getting used to, as turning the weapon sideways to use canted iron sights may initially feel a bit unusual. “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III” will be released in 2023. It is the twentieth work in the “Call of Duty” series and the third installment in the rebooted “Modern Warfare” series. The game, developed by Sledgehammer Games and published by Activision Blizzard, tells the story of Task Force 141 as they hunt down Vladimir Makarov, a Russian ultranationalist who plans to incite World War III.

The game launches for multiple platforms on November 10, 2023, maintaining a realistic and modern setting, with an engaging single-player mode and a multiplayer experience with updated maps for Modern Warfare II. It is worth noting that “Modern Warfare III” introduces a zombie mode set in an open world environment, which is the first time in the “Modern Warfare” series.
The development process faced challenges, as Sledgehammer Games originally intended to create an expansion pack for Modern Warfare II, but ultimately transitioned to a standalone game. Powered by the IW 9.0 engine, a partnership with Treyarch brings zombies mode. The official launch is in August 2023, with a showcase event and open beta held in October for players to preview the game before its full release.
Modern Combat 3 gameplay
Modern Warfare III’s gameplay is reminiscent of its predecessor, Modern Warfare II, as well as the broader Call of Duty series. Noteworthy features include the return of swipe to cancel, allowing players to maintain agility while on the move. The single-player campaign combines linear missions with “open combat missions,” giving players options from open combat to covert tactics to get closer to their objectives. Players use on-screen maps and tactical maps for mission guidance, with enemy reactions dynamically adapting to the player’s actions and calling for reinforcements as the battle progresses.
Multiplayer includes all 16 maps from Modern Warfare 2 and adds the ability to vote for maps during matches. Player health will increase, extending “time to kill,” and the “red dot” minimap returns, showing enemy locations when firing without a suppressor. Classic modes like Kill Confirmed and Hardpoint return, while a new mode called Brutal pits three teams against each other.
The game introduces an AI-hosted multiplayer experience to combat toxicity. Post-launch updates promise at least 12 new 6v6 multiplayer maps, with fan-favorite Modern Warfare II maps added seasonally.
Developed by Treyarch and Sledgehammer Games, the Zombies mode shifts to an open-world structure. Up to 24 players form teams and face zombies and AI-controlled human enemies to complete objectives. The map is divided into “zones” of increasing difficulty, which will trigger an “ether storm” after 45 minutes, prompting players to escape with their loot. Familiar elements like weapon wall purchases and Perk-a-Cola drinks return, while story missions also drive the narrative forward.
