Independence Day 2024: The people of India will celebrate the 78th Independence Day this year. It has been 78 years since India gained independence from British rule. This day also coincides with the division of India into two new dominions – India and Pakistan.

The national holiday will be celebrated with flag-hoisting ceremonies, parades and cultural events across the country.
