Krishna Janmashtami Fast 2024
Devotees who observe the Krishna birthday fast usually eat only one meal a day before the festival. The actual fast begins on the birthday after completing the morning rituals. At this time, the intention to observe the fast is officially announced (Sankalpa).
Traditionally, the fast ends at the end of Ashtami Tithi (eighth day of the eighth lunar month) and Rohini Nakshatra (horoscope). However, some devotees choose to end the fast at the end of one or the other.
The most auspicious time for Krishna Puja is Nishita Kaal, which corresponds to midnight according to Vedic timekeeping.
Note: Fasting customs vary by region. It is recommended to consult with your local pastor for specific guidance.
Krishna’s Birthday reminds people of the importance of loyalty, compassion and courage. It fosters a sense of community and strengthens the bonds between people. The bright colors, beautiful music and joyful atmosphere create a magical atmosphere and lift people’s spirits.
